The necessity of a standard school in kozhuvallur with quality education and CBSE syllabus was felt for long. Though few such schools was available around kozhuvallur, due to high fee structure and other expenses, students from poor and middle class families especially from backward classes cannot get admission in them. To mitigate such a pitiable situation, the corporate management of Catholicate and M.D Schools, Devalokam, Kottayam decided to start a school in and around kozhuvallur with a CBSE syllabus. Thus, the present school came into existence.
In the beginning, we had a lot of problems with regards to academic standards, laboratory and library facilities, availability of class rooms, lack of sufficient teaching aids, availability of well-qualified teachers etc. but, fortunately all such hurdles are over now and we have a well-equipped institution with sufficient well qualified and devoted teachers, excellent class rooms, laboratories and library. Thus, St. George Senior Secondary School has grown now to the status of a world-class educational institution with access and excellence in Higher Secondary Education.
The St. George Senior Secondary School, Kozhuvalloor is an educational institution which has influenced the social and cultural development of Kozhuvalloor and the surroundings. The school which was established in 1994 is under the Corporate Management of Catholicate and MD school Kottayam. His Grace Mathews Mar Thevodosious, the Metropolitan of Idukki Diocese, is the Manager of the school.
